There are 3 ways to Grow a business
- New customers!
- Get your customers to spend more per visit!
- Get your customers to visit more often!
That’s It , You have to hit all 3 areas, but you only need small incremental increases or decreases in each area to have phenomenal or devastating impact on your T/O
There are lots of ways too lose a customer, no smile or not attending to them can help them to choose another supplier of your service. speaking on the phone when you have customer in the shop a queue will lose you customers. If you know when you’re busy get extra stuff to cover.

Customers have an acquisition cost, you need to find out how much it costs you to get a new customer add your marketing advertising to your running costs(including everything) then divide this be the number of customers that buy from. this will give you a cost per customer. Now divide the number of customers by your total t/o. this will give you a value or customer worth. you could minus the 2 figures and this will leave you with profit potential of every new customer.
Ok now you know how much it costs to get a new customer and how much each customer is worth.

I don’t have a budget for marketing, I spend what I have to acquire the number of customers I can service.
I do this by defining my niches and then advertising to those niches.
The Most important question when marketing is
who is my customer? this can be redefined to whom is my best customer.
then you can figure out what they want and how you can supply it. I help my clients define their customers.

Appliance repairman who specialises in a couple of brands 30-50 years old trained insured and wants more business has been trading 1-5 years uses a van. wears a uniform to give customers trust. clean shaven, tidy tool box. would like a t/o of £75k pa currently t/o 25-35k blah blah

SERM or Search Engine Reputation Management is all about having a plan in place or a schedule to saturate or place multiple positive comments/publicity on the World Wide Web that over shadow any or all slander and the first thing is to be aware of any as it happens by having an alert put on your keywords and names!
Keywords are the words that represent the terms that people will tap into a search engine (google) to find your product or service ie you repair neff ovens, so you customer might type in domestic appliance repairman and location or just repair man or electrical repairman. This is very important for you to know. this is how people will find you or not!
PPC or Pay Per Click is a method of attracting customers through search engines by paying for each customer that a search engine(google ) send your way! so you effectively PAY PER CLICK. If you get this wrong with google ad words then you will be wasting a lot of money!
IM or instant messenger is a way of sending messages directly to a friend or contact you know or Internet Marketing is your ability to utilise the WWW to facilitate the acquisition of new clients for your product or service.
Organic Listings are a treat they are the results that Google and other search providers call the results of any search that is made using their service.
